About
Emanuele Baldassarre is a pioneer in minimally invasive pediatric urology, with a career-spanning focus on robotic-assisted surgery for complex urinary tract conditions. His most impactful contribution is the landmark "Global minimally invasive pyeloplasty study in children" (109 citations), a multi-institutional collaboration under the European Association of Urology Young Academic Urologists working party. This study established critical benchmarks for robotic pyeloplasty outcomes in children, shaping international practice standards. Baldassarre also performed the first isolated robotic nephropexy for symptomatic nephroptosis, a procedure previously only reported in conjunction with pyeloplasty. His early work includes the first Italian experience with robotic-assisted laparoscopic dismembered pyeloplasty in adolescents (2008), demonstrating feasibility and safety in a pediatric population. Additionally, he contributed to the early adoption of robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy in Italy, reporting perioperative data on the first 150 patients.
