Dr. Aayed Alqahtani is a pioneering pediatric surgeon whose work has revolutionized minimally invasive surgical approaches for children and adolescents. His primary research focuses on the safety, feasibility, and outcomes of robot-assisted pediatric surgery, particularly in bariatric procedures for young patients. Dr. Alqahtani’s landmark 2010 study, "Robot‐Assisted Pediatric Surgery: How Far Can We Go?" (76 citations), demonstrated the successful application of the da Vinci Surgical System across 144 diverse pediatric procedures, establishing a critical benchmark for robotic surgery in this vulnerable population.
