Dispensing robot for toxic drugs in pharmacy intravenous admixture services

Abstract
The dispensing of highly toxic drugs such as tumor chemotherapy drugs in the pharmacy intravenous admixture service (PIVAS) has become a consensus and standard. This paper proposes a dispensing robot for the automatic dispensing of highly toxic drugs, which can be used to replace the manual drug dispensing in PIVAS. The robot is designed with multiple fans, multiple gas paths, and two-level sub-bin structure to ensure the dispensing process and the internal hundred-level clean environment. At the same time, the internal pressure of the robot is controlled to ensure that the internal toxic aerosol does not leak, which is proved by smoke experiment and internal particulate matter experiment. In addition, this paper also conducted a comparative experiment on the liquid residue of the robot dispensing, which proved that the robot dispensing can achieve good results on the key data of the dispensing quality. The above research lays the foundation for more in-depth environmental control and drug dispensing quality control research of robots.
