Abstract
This paper summarizes the results of the AWARE project coordinated by the Robotics, Vision and Control Group (GRVC) of the University of Seville and funded by the European Commission under the VI Framework Program (IST-2006-33579). The paper briefly describes the architecture developed for the autonomous decentralized cooperation between unmanned aerial vehicles, wireless sensor/actuator networks and ground camera networks. The full approach was validated in field experiments with different autonomous helicopters equipped with heterogeneous devices on-board, such as visual/infrared cameras and instruments to transport loads and to deploy sensors.
