Medical and technical requirements analysis for lower limb rehabilitation system

Abstract

The last years have shown the need to use robotic systems for medical recovery activities. The paper presents this need and technical and medical requirements analysis for a lower limb rehabilitation system. A possible solution as a person to rebuild strength and coordination of a lower limb is rehabilitation robotics. The research is guided based on user-centered design. This paper presents the therapists’ answers to a questionnaire about the requirements of lower limb rehabilitation and a robotic rehabilitation system. Our development of a lower limb robotic rehabilitation device has to fulfill the needs and requirements of its users, both therapists and patients.
