Abstract
We discuss a two-level "totally mobile" wireless communications architecture which is motivated by the need for low cost rapidly deployable communication structures. The system's capabilities for intelligent survivability and adaptive connectivity in a highly dynamic mobile environment are discussed. We design and evaluate algorithms for base station movement as well as for terminal handoff based on robot motion planning and wireless power control.
