Abstract
The increasing need for faster delivery of software product and need to innovate in delivery basis, Development and Operations (DevOps) is formulated to overcome shortcomings of agile system of software delivery model. So to overcome from these problems, the strategy of software development needs to be done. The system to be developed with proper planning in such a way that it should take less time for code deployment by software developer and sprints of the development should be short. DevOps model proposes to break the silos between development and operations. Strategy for Dynamic Diameter Engine (DDE) software positions networks to handle and adopt networks to DevOps-model-based software delivery. Automation of test execution cases and development of Continuous Integration Framework, this strategy helps in more interaction between development and quality in enhancing quality of software produced. Currently, an automation framework Rammbock is being setup 268to run DDE functional test cases. Automation of functional test cases has started and target for 100% automation. Automation framework is added with tools that help in validation and debugging the test cases which are triggered automatically. Counters tool developed using ROBOT Integrated Development Environment validates counter values obtained in DDE during execution of test cases. Tracing tool sets trace level automatically during execution of test cases so that log files can contain enough information to debug in event of test case failures. Development of automation framework for counters and tracing has resulted in an optimized testing. Counters tool is developed using Robot Framework, which is operating system independent, making it more flexible to adopt. Counter tool has made the task easier by providing instant output rather than looking graph/ XML file manually. Tracing tool makes user to enable tracing quickly, the debugging issue can be solved just by taking inputs in short time. These tools help in a complete automation of test cases, thereby avoiding manual testing, which is prone to errors and time consuming.
