Abstract

Monitoring the immediate environment with the goal of acquiring information and controlling activity is known as surveillance. As a crucial component of security for both private residences and business buildings, surveillance systems are now a must. Wireless home security and alarm systems that instantly alert the user to problems may be used with IoT-based surveillance systems. Robotics, or a computer that can be programmed to carry out a complicated sequence of simultaneous activities, may be used for this. By linking physical things with sensors, processors, software, and other technologies for data exchange with other devices and systems through the Internet, which is the fundamental concept of the Internet of Things, a better user experience and outcomes may be generated (IoT). The planned robot begins taking pictures of its surroundings as it is started up. The user may access the saved and recorded video through the internet once the user detects any movement in the camera's field of view, which starts recording the video and continues until the motion ceases. When the security robot is linked to the internet through WiFi, the user may safely log in to the password-protected system module using a VNC server, see the live feed, and concurrently manoeuvre the robot and camera. The user may have a better perspective of the surroundings thanks to the pan-tilt camera movement. In order to prevent colliding with impediments, the robot mobility is designed in this way. An alert system is employed to inform the user of the acquired photographs through email, and a basic face recognition algorithm is used for this purpose.
