Abstract

This paper mainly studies the function of the robot arm to play pool. To perform this function, a special gripper must be designed, so we use 3D printing to design a gripper mechanism for playing pool, and design the drive and control circuits for the gripper. In addition, we also design a camera to be installed on the gripper to provide image recognition. This paper only discusses the case study of "one cushion" bank shot. Bank shot is a playing pool technique in which the player shoots the object ball into the cushion first, and let the object ball bounce into the pocket. This practical study is a mechatronic system of a robotic arm with special-purpose functions.
