The Design Of A Pipe Crawling Robot For Control Of Zebra Mussel Infestations

Abstract

A brief overview of the biology of Dreissena Polymorpha, known famdiarly as the zebra mussel, is followed by discussion of the threat that the mussel represents to water users in the Great Lakes region. The challenges of building a mechsm to remove zebra mussel growth from water intake systems are discussed in detail, and a design of such a mache is presented.
