Abstract

With the increasing popularity of mobile robotic platforms in the form of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) there is an ambition to decrease their size, weight, power, and cost. Fast development in the UAV industry is affording different types of price level UAV systems and separate components, which in turn increase interest to UAV test platforms able to evaluate design, performance, and reliability of the UAV units. This research presents a classification of the UAV by category and focuses on small UAV performance testing in the laboratory conditions. Moreover, this paper presents an overview of popular test benches for UAV, and a conceptual test bench for small size UAVs performance estimation.
