Abstract
The current research status of searching and rescuing robots both at home and abroad is investigated thoroughly.Lessons and experiences from the rescues of World Trade Center event in 2001 and West Virginia mine disaster in 2006 are summarized. Some key performances, such as mobility, search and identify of the survivals, stable communication and friendly interface between robot and operators are introduced.Multi-robot cooperation rescue will be the development tendency.
