Abstract
Neighbourhood connection and network topology in modular robotic systems are frequently varied by users. Inter-communication of modular robotic systems is a challenge due to uncertainties of network topology. In this paper, we present a novel distributed communication protocol for modular robotic systems. The protocol is designed to deal with rapid changes of system reconfiguration. We demonstrated the effectiveness of the developed protocol through experiments on the real-world modular robotic system.
