Abstract

A system for the automated visual inspection of dry fiber composite lay-ups in a robotic assembly cell is presented. Boundary detection of a laid-up workplace is aided by a fast texture segmentation method based on convolution. An edge refinement stage is used to increase the accuracy of the detected boundary. A prestored reference template is used to measure deviation from ideal position.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
