Abstract

This paper proposes three action strategies for remote operation of a mobile robot in a human coexistence environment as an application of network robotics towards a human coexistence robot. The navigation of mobile robots from the remote site using only picture information is very difficult. To realize a human coexistence type robot is a challenging subject. So we propose: the combination control method with remote operation and autonomous motion with priority on the remote operation; the method of extending the task-based data exchange which we have proposed; and the method of sharing information between a coexisting human and mobile robot by a preliminary announcement display of the action intention of the mobile robot.
