Abstract
The advent of Industry 5.0 marks a paradigm shifts in the industrial landscape, propelled by the integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and robotics. At the heart of this transformation lies the strategic management of knowledge, a critical asset in the dynamic intersection of technology and industry. This study endeavours to explore the multifaceted role and functions of knowledge management within the context of Industry 5.0, aiming to assess its significance, applications, challenges, and ethical considerations. The first objective of this study is to evaluate the role of knowledge management in Industry 5.0, emphasizing its impact on organizational performance, innovation, and competitiveness. Through a comprehensive review of literature and empirical investigations into Industry 5.0 organizations, the research unveils the pivotal role of knowledge management as a driving force behind enhanced organizational performance, a catalyst for innovation, and a key determinant of competitiveness. The second objective delves into the functions of knowledge management in Industry 5.0, investigating the intricacies of knowledge creation, storage, retrieval, dissemination, and application. Drawing on both quantitative and qualitative data from diverse organizations, the study illuminates the practical applications of knowledge management functions, providing insights into how these functions contribute to innovation, process optimization, and informed decision-making. Moving beyond applications, the research identifies and analyses challenges that organizations encounter in effectively managing knowledge within the Industry 5.0 framework. Issues related to global and remote teams, cultural diversity, and ethical considerations are scrutinized, revealing the complexities that organizations must navigate to harness the full potential of knowledge management in a technologically-driven era. Furthermore, the study explores emerging trends and technologies shaping the landscape of knowledge management in Industry 5.0. From artificial intelligence to block chain, the research investigates how these innovations influence knowledge discovery, dissemination, and security. Ethical considerations in knowledge management are examined in the context of data privacy, algorithmic bias, and responsible AI usage, paving the way for the development of guidelines for ethical knowledge sharing in Industry 5.0. In conclusion, this study contributes to the understanding of knowledge management as a linchpin in Industry 5.0, providing a roadmap for organizations seeking to navigate the technological frontier. By assessing its role, functions, challenges, and ethical dimensions, the study offers valuable insights into how knowledge can be harnessed to drive success in the era of Industry 5.0.
