Abstract

Artificial intelligence is the most talked about technology across a wide breadth of industries. Like it or not, artificial intelligence is everywhere today and is growing its presence by the clock. It’s impossible to live without them today, from basic chatbots and virtual agents to smart home devices (IoT), industrial robots, drones, and wearables. But be it society or technology, gender bias has always been a critical issue. And artificial intelligence is no exception. We’ll understand what the challenges of gender bias are and how all the issues converge. We’ll also take a peek at how enterprises are dealing with artificial intelligence. The topic aims at understanding the various working parts of artificial intelligence briefly and how unknowingly, its algorithms gave way to gender disparity. It seems that the mentality of the gender-biased society is reflected within the development labs as well. The scarcity of female technical workforce in leading enterprises has led to the male-brain working behind AI algorithm development. So bias becomes inevitable. We’ll see what steps are necessary to remove gender bias from within the AI world and what the experts recommend big enterprises to work towards. The workforce has to be built with a balance; then only the outcome of the process in which they are involved will be free from disparity.
