Abstract
The MRO industry expected grow is limited by high human injury and death toll rates associated to harsh environments. The maintenance industry plans to integrate robotic systems in the maintenance chain promoting faster procedures with lower risks for humans. The uneven working scenarios ask for flexible solutions able to operate under different environment conditions. The current article deals with the design of a robotic platform for complex MRO setups able to operate over vertical, curved and irregular surfaces while enduring complex tasks. The solution is presented explaining the mechanical design, multibody simulation model and dexterity assessment along with equipment integration.
