Classification and State of IR/Visible Image Registration Methods

Abstract

IR/Visible image registration is a highlight of actual research on multi-sensor image registration,which played an important role in the fields of automation,robotics,remote sensing and military.First,the key technique and difficulty of IR/Visible image registration were introduced here,and the basic processes of IR/Visible image registration were analyzed.Then,the common image registration methods were divided into two types: area-based methods and feature-based methods.Considering the feasibility of algorithm,the analysis and evaluation for representational image registration methods were carried out.At last,prospects of IR/Visible image registration method were made.
