Abstract
The high speed 5G network may play a key role in the agriculture sector over the next century, helping to improve crop quality by applying the least man force. Farmers can be more profitable by using intelligent and reliable precession cultivation. The introduction ultra-high-speed communication networks into the farming sector will significantly improve agricultural employment. The 5G platform’s artificial intelligence-based data hub offers precision agriculture strategies that are both versatile and productive. It will also enable for the autonomous implementation of different robotic farm machinery during the ploughing, plantation, as well as strategic planning aspects of livestock production, resulting in safe, trustworthy, eco-sustainable, and even the creation of automated farms. This chapter discusses about the importance of 5G networks in the agricultural sector and the advantages of 5G communication over the commonly used networks. The appropriateness of 5G networks in the farming sector, requirement of high-speed communication system and application of 5G; advantages of 5G; implementations of 5G in smart farming like live tracking, remote guidance, threat detection, statistics analysis, web directories; and upcoming opportunities has been discussed in this chapter.
