Abstract
Human has five senses as: skin sense touch, tong sense taste, nose sense smell, ear sense voice and eye sense sight. Through these five senses we are able to get interact with external environment & does our work successfully with accuracy To interact with external world robot needs some interfacing units which can tell the control unit about its surrounding environment. These interfacing units are sensors. This paper is focusing the most commonly used sensors in mobile robotics. The paper analyzes all sensors and describes their application in general & application specific manner. A prototype of application vehicle speed measurement is implemented.
