Smart Device Interlocked Robot Partners for Information Support Systems in Sightseeing Guide

Abstract

This paper introduce a sightseeing support robot partner called "Concierge robot". The robot partner consists of inter locked smart device, body and four-wheel type robot base. The aim of the robot is to recommend restaurant, shops, sightseeing spots to visitors in a hotel. The smart device provides a guide service via interaction with users by utterance and touch interface screen. Sound code combined utterance is translated to multi-language by specific smart phone application. The robot guided hotel and sightseeing information at Rihga royal hotel and Keio plaza hotel.
