Abstract
Timely wireless communication is essential to allow\nreal-time mobile applications, such as communication\nbetween mobile robots or inter-vehicle communication to\nbe realized. The real-time event-based communication\nparadigm has been recognized as an appropriate highlevel\ncommunication scheme to connect autonomous\ncomponents in large distributed control systems [1]. We\ninvestigate whether real-time event constraints can be\nguaranteed in a mobile ad hoc wireless network.\nIn this work in progress paper we present our analysis\nof the impact of mobile ad hoc wireless networks on\nachieving real-time guarantees. We introduce our ongoing\nwork on the use of a proactive routing and resource\nreservation protocol using mobility awareness and\nprediction to reduce the unpredictability of a dynamic\nmobile ad hoc wireless network.
