Abstract

Meal support system for people with upper limb disabilities have been proposed on a commercial basis, but their systems are required more improving for usability, costly, and mobility. The purpose of this research is to propose robotic meal support systems with a voice input interface for people with upper limb disabilities. The proposed system has also several functions such as a tongue movement detection and an obstacle detection. A prototype is developed for experimental validation and performance evaluations of the proposed system.
