Abstract
A lower-limb prosthetic device is sophisticated but preferred to be simple and elegant. Significant growth in the number of manufacturers of these prostheses is seen throughout the world. Every product that improves the usability and reliability for the amputee is going to be win-win situation for society. Extensive research is underway on implantable stumps, which may eradicate the need for a socket. With parallel developments in bioprinting, prosthetics, and robotics, super-human-like body parts will no longer be just a fantasy.
