摘要
Modern domestic cleaning often requires significant time investment and can be a laborious task for many individuals. Most old-fashioned vacuum cleaners are solely hand-operated and do not have more technological features such as disinfection, remote control and navigation. Moreover, most of the available vacuum robots are costly and hence not accessible to many, and this has left a gap where there is an affordable eco-friendly solution that provides more than just a basic functionality of cleaning. So, we have come up with a new idea-a vacuum robot from recycled materials and controlled by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. That makes this bot even more functional as it hosts a UV sterilization unit that can clean up surfaces while disinfecting them. The hub of the system is an Arduino UNO microcontroller managing to control two DC motors by using an L293D motor driver, which ensures smooth movement on varied surfaces. A micro coreless motor using a diode relay also enhances dust collection, but serves an ultrasonic sensor that provides obstacle avoidance for safe, autonomous navigation. The robot has implementation via two modes of operation: manual control through the Arduino Blue Control app and remote-control using Wi-Fi through the Adafruit.io platform. Powered by a rechargeable battery, 12V, it comes with an added working status blinker for real-time operation. The structure of the chassis is recycled which speaks of both being eco-friendly as well as being sustainable. This design aims to offer a cheap cleaning method that is fairly efficient and easy to use, with possible advancements in the future such as smart home integrations with Alexa and Google Home.
