In today’s competitive manufacturing environment, productivity, flexibility, and agility are key elements. Multiple degrees of freedom robots are showing promise in automating manufacturing processes. The discussion in this chapter highlights how the use of robots in additive manufacturing is experiencing significant growth due to their ability to achieve higher precision and efficiency. The chapter covers the major additive manufacturing processes that can be enhanced with advanced robotic systems and explores the potential of using robotic systems with advanced materials.
