摘要
This paper describes the design and analysis of electrical machine for robotic in-service inspection vehicle operating under harsh environmental conditions of nuclear reactor. Key requirements of high torque density and tolerance to high ambient temperature leads to selection of surface mounted permanent magnet motors for this application. Design criteria and details are presented. A coupled electromagnetic- thermal analysis is carried out with the help of analytical tool MOTORCAD-EMAG &THERM. Performance of three different motor configurations having slot/pole of 12/8, 12/10 and 24/16 are investigated. Based on performance comparisons,12/10 configuration is recommended for this application.
