摘要
The emergence of deep fakes in an environment dominated by digital content that is as formidable and ubiquitous creates chaos in the digital media ecosystem. This chapter discusses a scholar's viewpoint regarding deep fakes and their sociological, psychological, and moral consequences. It discusses the complicated relationship between technological innovation and sustaining digital media, questioning fake news generated by robots. Deep fakes, hyper-realistic digital forgeries, have become a new obstacle, producing fake realities that erode confidence and disrupt social discourse. These fabrications pervade every aspect of society. In particular, they have far-reaching effects on adolescents whose social experiences are deeply intertwined with the Internet. This chapter explores the complex consequences of deep fakes, such as breakdowns in cognitive functions leading to mental health issues and social unrest, as well as the monetary risks for people and societies. The study is guided by quantitative methods that rely on empirical research to get authentic information about this phenomenon. The chapter uses surveys and analysis to determine the scope of deep fakes’ incidence among different groups and their psychological effects. The chapter also focuses on the effectiveness and moral components of the AI-based systems designed to curb deep fakes. This research is critical in providing insights into some of the issues facing the modern online environment and strengthening the honesty of digital media. This chapter provides a detailed account of the implications of deep fakes and AI frameworks on national security, legal jurisdiction, politics, society, ethics, philosophy, and the culture of different nations. It, therefore, constitutes a crucial reference for researchers, experts, and lawmakers. The study pursues an agenda that will guide future research and action to ensure resilience in the context of digital duplicity and preserve the truth in today's virtual society.
