Intelligent and sustainable manufacturing applications are essential in the automotive industry to enhance sustainability and efficiency. This chapter provides an overview of how the industry leverages intelligent and eco-friendly manufacturing technologies, such as advanced sensors, machine learning algorithms, and robotic automation. The chapter addresses the sustainability challenges faced by the automotive sector, including the need to minimize energy consumption, waste generation, and environmental impact during manufacturing processes. It highlights the role of intelligent manufacturing technologies in tackling these challenges, such as employing advanced sensors to monitor and optimize production processes and utilizing machine learning algorithms to enhance product quality and reduce waste. Robotic automation is also discussed, including the use of autonomous vehicles and collaborative robots to improve production efficiency and safety. The chapter emphasizes the importance of collaboration among academic institutions, government bodies, and industry stakeholders to advance and implement smart and sustainable manufacturing technologies in the automotive sector.
