Humanoid and its potential applications

摘要

Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan had run an R&D project on humanoid robotics. We call it HRP. In the project, platforms for humanoid robotics research were developed at first and contributors of the project carried R&D on the applications of humanoid robots with consideration given to the needs of industries by using the platforms. In this paper, we describe the explored five applications that are suitable to use humanoid robots and expected to open new industry.
