摘要

Motion capture systems can acquire human body motion for use in a variety of applications. For example, acquired data can be used in robotic applications for controlling traffic and aircraft marshaling. Traffic police and aircraft marshals spend long hours directing car and plane traffic and are susceptible to the effects of pollution, as well as mental and physical fatigue. These jobs could be automated using robots that mimic human upper-body motions. In order to develop such robotic systems, natural human motion should be studied. Microsoft Kinect V2 is a non-invasive, low-cost camera primarily used in the video gaming industry which can be adopted for human-body motion analysis. This study evaluates the joint-tracking abilities of single-Kinect and dual-Kinect systems. The dual-Kinect system provides robust and accurate tracking of several complex upper-body motions.
