About

Zhiwu Zhang is a leading figure in quantitative genetics and plant genomics, whose work has fundamentally advanced our understanding of complex trait architecture in crops. His primary research focuses on the genetic dissection of metabolic pathways and biomass traits, particularly in maize. In his highly cited 2010 study, Zhang pioneered the fine mapping of quantitative trait loci (QTL) governing carbon and nitrogen metabolism enzyme activities and seedling biomass.
