About

David Frisch is a pioneering figure in the development of foundational genomic resources for major agricultural species. His research centers on the construction and characterization of deep-coverage bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) libraries, a critical technology for positional cloning, structural genomics, and the identification of agronomically important genes. Frisch’s most impactful contribution is the creation of a BAC library for barley, which enabled the identification of clones containing putative resistance genes—a work that has garnered 206 citations.
