About

Zhihao Zhao is pioneering the intersection of self-powered sensing and intelligent robotics, with a focus on triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) for advanced human–machine interaction. His major contributions include the design of a self-powered dual-type signal vector sensor (DS-TENG) for smart robotics and automatic vehicles, enabling precise vector motion monitoring without external power sources—a breakthrough cited over 100 times. Zhao also developed a highly-sensitive omnidirectional acoustic sensor that accurately identifies sound sources in noisy environments, enhancing robot auditory capabilities, with 50 citations. His work extends to personalized medical rehabilitation through self-powered vector motion sensors, and most recently, he has integrated deep learning with high-sensitivity acoustic sensors for real-time emotion recognition in auditory robots. With cumulative citations exceeding 195, Zhao’s innovations are driving the next generation of autonomous systems, from smart vehicles to empathetic robots, making him a leading figure in self-powered sensing and intelligent robotics.
