About
Dr. Yixuan Mou is a pioneering urologic surgeon whose research focuses on advancing minimally invasive techniques for prostate and kidney cancer treatment. A central theme of Dr. Mou’s work is the comparative evaluation of robotic surgical platforms, most notably in a 2025 study comparing the da Vinci system with the emerging Toumai® robotic system for robot-assisted radical prostatectomy and partial nephrectomy. This work, already garnering 5 citations, is critical for establishing the efficacy and safety of next-generation surgical robots. Dr. Mou also made a significant contribution to nephron-sparing surgery with a 2023 study on superselective transarterial embolization (STE) for achieving zero ischaemia during robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy. By demonstrating the feasibility and safety of this approach in 32 patients with T1 renal cancer, Dr. Mou provided a pathway to preserve kidney function without compromising oncologic outcomes. With a growing citation record, Dr. Mou’s research is at the forefront of integrating advanced embolization techniques and novel robotic systems to improve surgical precision and patient recovery.
