About
Dr. Yijiao Chen is a leading surgeon-researcher whose work centers on advancing robotic surgical techniques, particularly in colorectal and urological oncology. Her most significant contribution is a landmark study on robotic rectal surgery, drawing from the largest consecutive real-world dataset in China—1,145 cases—to robustly demonstrate the safety and efficacy of robotic rectal resection. This work, with 24 citations, provides critical evidence for the adoption of minimally invasive approaches in challenging pelvic surgeries. Dr. Chen further innovated in surgical safety by introducing the "trinity technique," a novel method to prevent low rectal anastomotic leakage in the robotic era.
