About

Xue Long is a leading figure in lunar exploration and planetary geomechanics, whose work has directly shaped the success of China’s Chang’e missions. His research focuses on the mechanical behavior of lunar regolith, in-situ resource utilization, and the design of sampling strategies for extraterrestrial surfaces. Long’s most notable contribution is his pioneering study on surface sampling depth prediction for the far side of the Moon, published in 2025.
