About
Xiaohang Yue is a leading voice in operations management (OM) for the digital age, whose work is defining how industries adapt to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Her primary research explores the intersection of disruptive technologies—including artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT)—with modern supply chain and logistics systems. Yue’s most influential work, "Disruptive Technologies and Operations Management in the Industry 4.0 Era and Beyond" (2021), has garnered over 610 citations, establishing itself as a foundational reference for understanding how automation and data analytics are reshaping operational efficiency. She is equally recognized for her applied, data-driven contributions, such as her study on IoT-enabled human–robot hybrid sortation systems (2021). Motivated by a real-world challenge at a China Post sortation center, this work developed an online optimization approach to dynamically adjust manual capacity, demonstrating a powerful synergy between human labor and robotic automation. Through her research, Yue provides both a strategic roadmap and practical analytical tools for navigating the complexities of Industry 4.0, making her a pivotal figure for students and practitioners seeking to build more responsive, technology-driven operations.
