Xianxia Shen is a leading atmospheric scientist whose research centers on aerosol remote sensing and air quality monitoring, with a particular focus on China. Her work has been instrumental in validating and intercomparing satellite-derived aerosol optical depth (AOD) data from CALIPSO and MODIS against ground-based AERONET measurements, providing critical insights into aerosol loading and distribution patterns over the region.
