About
Dr. Chaoshun Liu is a leading researcher in atmospheric remote sensing and air quality monitoring, with a focus on aerosol optical properties and particulate matter pollution. His most impactful contribution is the development of the LGHAP v2 dataset—a global, gap-free, high-resolution (1 km) record of aerosol optical depth (AOD) and PM2.5 concentrations spanning from 2000 to the present. This big Earth data product, cited 27 times since its 2024 release, enables unprecedented long-term, spatially continuous analysis of air pollution trends worldwide.
