About

Tong Qiu is a pioneering thoracic surgeon whose research has fundamentally advanced the field of robotic-assisted lung surgery, with a particular focus on complex oncological procedures for centrally located non-small cell lung cancer. Working at the frontier of minimally invasive thoracic surgery, Qiu has built a distinguished body of work demonstrating that robotic platforms can safely and effectively perform technically demanding operations — including bronchial sleeve lobectomy, double-sleeve lobectomy combining bronchoplasty with pulmonary arterial angioplasty, and even circumferential tracheal resection — procedures historically reserved for open surgery.
