Shun-ya Horikiri is a leading figure in the field of bio-inspired robotics, with a primary focus on bipedal locomotion and adaptive control systems. His most significant contribution lies in pioneering the application of the *Tegotae* concept—a Japanese term describing the feeling of "fit" between an action and its sensory reaction—to robot control.
