Shou-Wu Zhang is a leading figure in number theory and arithmetic geometry, best known for his groundbreaking contributions to the Gross-Zagier formula and the theory of Heegner points. His work has profoundly advanced the understanding of the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture, one of the most celebrated problems in mathematics.
