Sharath Nittur Sridhar is a leading researcher at the intersection of computer vision, robotics, and deep learning, best known for his pioneering work on synthetic data generation. His landmark paper, “Driving in the Matrix: Can Virtual Worlds Replace Human-Generated Annotations for Real World Tasks?” (2017, 88 citations), fundamentally challenged the field’s reliance on costly, time-consuming human annotation.
