About
Raul Pellini is a leading head and neck surgeon whose research has revolutionized the treatment of oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers through the advancement of transoral robotic surgery (TORS). His work centers on demonstrating that TORS can achieve excellent oncologic outcomes while significantly improving patients’ quality of life, particularly swallowing function, compared to traditional radiotherapy. In a landmark 2020 systematic review and meta-analysis (61 citations), he provided critical evidence comparing TORS to intensity-modulated radiotherapy for oropharyngeal carcinoma.
