Patricia Ellis is a pioneering gynecologic oncology surgeon whose work is redefining the surgical management of advanced ovarian and endometrial cancers. Her primary research focuses on the feasibility and optimization of robotic surgery, particularly for complex patient populations. Ellis’s landmark contribution is the MIRRORS prospective cohort study, which rigorously assessed the viability of robotic interval debulking surgery for advanced-stage ovarian cancer, a procedure traditionally performed via laparotomy. This work, garnering 16 citations, has provided critical evidence for expanding minimally invasive options in high-stakes oncology.
