About
Dr. Namrata Roy is an instrumental figure in the development of next-generation astronomical instrumentation, with a primary focus on the design and optimization of multi-object spectrographs for extremely large telescopes. Her key research areas encompass optical system design, spectrograph trade studies, and the engineering of high-resolution astronomical instruments. Her most notable contribution is the trade study for the Wide Field Optical Spectrometer (WFOS), a first-light instrument for the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT).
