Mohamad Issa is a pioneering surgeon and researcher whose work centers on advancing minimally invasive transoral robotic surgery, particularly for head and neck cancers. His major contributions lie in the clinical implementation and evaluation of novel robotic platforms, most notably the Medrobotics Flex Robotic System. Issa co-authored the landmark multicenter study, “Transoral surgery using the Flex Robotic System: Initial experience in the United States” (2018, 25 citations), which documented the first U.S. experience with this flexible, single-port robot.
