Michiel Algoet is a pioneering cardiac surgeon whose work is reshaping the landscape of minimally invasive coronary revascularization. His research centers on robotic-assisted coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), with a specific focus on advancing from traditional open-heart procedures to totally endoscopic techniques. Algoet’s major contributions include the development and refinement of the robotic EndoWrist stabilizer—a device he has likened to the "Stradivari violin" of robotic heart surgery—which enables precise, beating-heart bypass surgery through tiny incisions.
